Choose a verse.

This is the heart of the app: one verse from anywhere in the Quran, drawn at random, for you to pause on. Press the button and try it.

Text in the Hafs ‘an ‘Asim riwaya, set in the same King Fahd Complex typeface the app uses. Verses come from the public Quran.com API; recitation by Mahmoud Khalil al-Husary.

Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allāh. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allāh hearts are assured.

Riwayat

Read in your riwaya.

Each riwaya in the app has its own King Fahd Complex mushaf, typeface and verse numbering. Here is the fourth verse of al-Fatiha as it is read in each:

‘Asim of Kufa

Hafs
Shu‘ba

Nafi‘ of Madinah

Warsh
Qalun

Abu ‘Amr of Basra

al-Duri
al-Susi

Notice «مَٰلِكِ» with the alif for ‘Asim, and «مَلِكِ» for the others. And notice the verse number: the basmala counts as a verse of al-Fatiha in the Kufan count, but not in the Madani or Basri.

FAQ

Common questions

SupportPrivacy policy

Is the app free?

Yes — entirely free, with no ads and no subscriptions. You can leave an optional tip from inside the app if you’d like to support it; nothing changes either way.

How often will I get a verse?

You choose: anywhere from every fifteen minutes to once a day. You can also have reminders follow the order of the mushaf instead of drawing at random.

Which tafsir does the app show?

Tafsir al-Muyassar, published by the King Fahd Complex, along with explanations of rarer words. The tafsir is in Arabic.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. The Quran text and tafsir ship with the app, and reminders work offline. Recitations need a connection the first time, then are kept on your device.

Does the app collect my data?

The app never asks for personal information. We use anonymous usage statistics and crash reports only to improve it. The privacy policy has the details.
